A Beautiful Day are wedding consultants based in Alberta, Canada. They specialise in making memorable events. A Beautiful Day offers clients the opportunity to rent and decorate their own wedding or event or have their experienced decorators create the look their clients desire.
The main scope of this brief was to implement an elegant website that tied in with the existing business branding. The Charles Rennie Mackintosh font is used heavily by the business in this respect and it was important that the website matched this.
The old website also made use of images for text which wasn’t very accessible or easily updated. Due to the nature of change, the business wanted the facility where they could update the website content in-house, only calling on me for design or functionality changes. From this point of view, it was important that an easy content management system was used.
The site hangs on an Expression Engine installation that allows Angela et al to update the website as required. The gallery function uses Slide Show Pro which again allows easy updating of new images.
Currently A Beautiful Day have simple e-commerce facility using Expression Engine and payment via Paypal. There is also a wholesale section whereby customers must register for a credit account before being assigned their username and password for site access.
