Quick and dirty usability

It’s one thing to know what you want to do when you use your website, it’s a different thing altogether understanding what your customers/users are doing.

SilverStripe 2.3.0 is released

The new version of SilverStripe is released today for download. There are thousands of updates in place and it should be interesting to take it for a test drive.

A big day for local authorities

Today the SOCITM report for local authority websites was released. I had been eagerly anticipating release of the report this year because my work for South Lanarkshire Council would be featured.

IE6 Support

This month’s edition of .net magazine arrived through the door yesterday which I always anticipate. It’s a must read if you’re involved with the web. Sometimes the larger articles aren’t down my street but generally I’m happy with it.

This edition covers the banana skin that is IE6 for web designers & developers. It definitely got me thinking, especially as this site has been relaunched.

New website launches

This week sees the launch of my new website.

I’m taking a very different approach with this version, intending to be more social and interacting with clients, colleagues and friends on a more regular basis. Social web tools like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Vimeo, Flickr etc. all help in this and I’d encourage you to pop by either of those apps and drop me a line.
